Independent Medical Examinations:

 

Independent Medical Examinations (IME’s) are utilized for automobile liability, worker’s compensation, general liability, medical malpractice and long term/short term disability claims.  Perspective Consulting, Inc., schedules IME’s utilizing our national database of more than 3500 Board Certified Medical Specialists. 

 

• Independent Medical Examinations offer an objective medical opinion to determine the current medical status of the claimant, in addition to offering a detailed history documenting treatment, pre-existing conditions, residuals, relationship of the diagnosis to the incident in question, and much more. 

 

• When an Independent Medical Examination is requested, our coordinators review all submitted medical information received by the client for completeness, and verifies the appropriateness of the selected specialist. 

 

• If other medical services are necessary, we are capable of coordinating diagnostic studies, Functional Capacity Evaluations or laboratory testing as needed in conjunction with the Independent Medical Examination.

 

• The claimant or legal representative is contacted to coordinate the date and time of the Independent Medical Examination in an effort to avoid a “no show” occurrence.

 

• The Independent Medical Examination is scheduled with confirmation letters submitted to the medical specialist, our client, the claimant or legal representative and any other sources the client wishes to have notified.

 

• Telephone contact is made 48 hours prior to the date of the examination to remind the claimant or legal representative of the scheduled appointment.  Telephone contact is also made following the examination to the medical specialist to confirm that the examination was performed.

 

• It is requested that our medical specialists return a signed report to Perspective Consulting, Inc., within 10 working days from the date of the examination. 

 

• At all times, the client is appraised, either in writing or by telephone, of the status of the Independent Medical Examination and report.

 

• This service can be modified to meet the needs of the client.  IME’s needed on a Rush basis may be accommodated.
